Cynthia (Cindy) Mullen is the founding Executive Director of The Leadership Institute, a division of The Center for Transformation and Innovation. The Leadership Institute is a nationally renowned model leadership development program designed to promote a culture of leadership excellence and success. The goal of The Leadership Institute is to transform leadership at all levels within an organization through "Leading with Strategy, Leading People, and Leading for Results".
In her role as Executive Director, Cindy oversees the development and execution of a multi-faceted, innovative leadership curriculum which includes talent identification and development, selection of speakers and coaches, comprehensive assessment and feedback, and the coaching and mentoring of executives, physicians, and faculty.
Cindy has more than 25 years of experience in organizational development and design in the public and private sectors, specializing in leadership development, institutional culture change and productivity improvement.
Prior to her role as Executive Director of the Leadership Institute, Cindy was an independent Organizational Development and Design Consultant. During that time, her focus was on developing and implementing human resources and organizational development strategies designed to improve the quality, efficiency, performance, and productivity of client organizations. An integral part of these initiatives was the use of technology to strengthen and accelerate significant results.
Formerly, she served as the Director of Human Resource Development (Organizational Development and Design) at USF. In this role, Cindy was responsible for developing the first comprehensive, broad-based human resource development program in the Florida State University System. She worked successfully with faculty and staff in a culturally diverse, multi-union academic environment. She also effectively led institutional culture change and built high-performing and customer-oriented teams. In addition, she led organizational development productivity and effectiveness initiatives, developed and delivered leadership, supervisory, and professional training, and served as a performance management consultant and coach. Cindy also provided subject matter expertise on process documentation and mapping, project management, and qualitative management research.
Cindy received a Masters of Science degree in Management and Organizational Development and Change from University of South Florida and graduated with Honors. She has served on various professional committees and community boards.
