Louis (Lou) Rhodes is a Partner within the Center for Transformation and Innovation at USF. In this role, Lou is developing and leading programs to improve customer satisfaction, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. He is helping clients fully leverage their people, process, and technology resources. This is accomplished through initiatives of Rapid Cycle Improvement and Workflow Design which are based on the established toolsets of Six Sigma, Lean, Change Management, Action Sessions, and Simulation.
Lou has undergone extensive training in quality assessment and improvement in real-world industry settings at GE Healthcare, which he joined in 2002. At GE, he worked directly with healthcare providers to improve their processes and systems -accomplishments that resulted in enhanced patient care, reduced costs, and increased revenues. He has participated in many projects that resulted in reduced cycle times, improved sales and service processes, and the development of effective marketing approaches.
Before joining GE, Lou worked for 12 years at several manufacturing companies as a senior manager in areas of internal system improvement programs. He also worked in various sales, marketing, customer service, and business management roles. He served 5 years in the U.S. Army.
Lou graduated in 1985 from U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, with a BS in Management Engineering. He earned an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1994. He is married to Rea, a Registered Nurse Practitioner, and has three children, Cliff, Erin, and Nick.
